The male partner gives his sperm sample on the day of egg collection, as fresh samples are always preferable.  After being prepared by the laboratory, it will be used to fertilize the woman's oocytes. There is a specially designated room, where the man can produce the sample. However, it is possible for the man to bring the semen sample from his home as long as it is transferred to the Unit within 45 minutes of its collection and is stored at body temperature.
