Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

Beside conventional IVF, in which eggs are left along with the husband’s sperm to fertilize under laboratory conditions, there is another method widely applied in labs, especially in cases of male infertility. This technique is called intracytoplasmic sperm injection or ICSI and is a fertilization method in which a sperm is directly injected into the egg, via micromanipulation.
