Pregnancy rates at Eugonia

Pregnancy rates at Eugonia

With successful pregnancy rates among the highest to be found anywhere in the world, Eugonia has percentages that reach 88%. This number reflects the clinical and scientific excellence, the personalised IVF treatment and the most-up-to-date technologies and techniques.

On what are the success rates depend?

The achievement of a pregnancy depends on many factors in IVF:

  • quality and number of embryos
  • age
  • sperm quality
  • cause of infertility
  • the knowledge and skill of gynecologists, embryologists, nurses and other scientists involved in the treatment
  • infrastructure and quality control of the laboratory.

We present to you Eugonia’s success rates in 3 boards:

EUGONIA chart 4 ΕΝ large

Table 1: Success rates of fresh blastocysts

* Note: The table refers to women whose embryo reached blastocyst stage. Frozen embryo cycles are excluded.

To be more specific, 88% of women <35 years old had a positive test , clinical pregnancy rate was 80%, ongoing pregnancies were 73% and live births were 70% per embryo transfer.

Women 35-39 years old had positive test rate of 72%, clinical pregnancy rate of 56%, ongoing pregnancy rate of 46% and live birth rate of 43% per embryo transfer.

Women >40 years old had positive test rate of 56%, clinical pregnancy rate of 50%, ongoing pregnancy rate of 39% and live birth rate of 33% per embryo transfer.

Age is clearly a determining factor which affects the result of the treatment. As the age increases, the success rates are reduced.

Table 2: Success rates of fresh embryos

* Note: The table refers to the overall treatment program. The results include transfer of Day 2, 3 and 5-6 embryos (blastocysts) and it excludes frozen embryo transfer.

CLINICAL PREGNANCY: intra-uterus pregnancies > 7 weeks with (a) positive heart beat(s). ONGOING PREGNANCIES: > 12 weeks with (a) positive heart beat(s).

Women aged <35 had a positive test chance of 65%, while the live birth rate was 48% per embryo transfer.

Women aged 35-39 had a positive test chance of 53,27%, while the live birth rate was 34,87% per embryo transfer.

Women aged >40 had a positive test chance of 27,81%, while the live birth rate was 12,30% per embryo transfer.

Table 3: Success rates of frozen embryos

This refers to treatment cycles with cryopreserved embryos of Day 2, 3 and 5-6 .

We have strict criteria regarding the selection of embryos for cryopreservation. Our usual practice during the last few years is to culture supernumerous embryos up to the blastocyst stage and proceed to cryopreservation according to specific quality criteria.

There was not patient selection regarding the cause or duration of infertility, the number of previous attempts and the method of fertilization (IVF or ICSI).
