A three day medical conference was organised by the Special Interest Group of Embryology of ESHRE at November 7th, with the topic the Embryo innovation: the legacy of the past and visions of the future.
One of the main subjects that were discussed, was how the past principles of the first research generation in IVF continue to shape our rapid progress today.
Dr Ioannis Sfontouris, Head of the Embryology Department in Eugonia, and co-ordinator of the Special Interest Group of Embryology made the introduction speech for the symposium and also gave a speech with the topic «Timelapse: how, when and why?» on the Session 6: The introduction of new technologies into the lab. He was also the participant at the panel of two more sessions: Session 3: Culturing embryos - Part II και Session 7: For the long term.
